Australian motor racing
circuit, Lakeside International Raceway has become the first motor racing
facility in the world to be granted full permanent heritage listing.
Located just north of
Brisbane and owned by the Pine Rivers Shire Council (rayb@prsc.qld.gov.au), the
Queensland Heritage Council (www.epa.qld.gov.au)
voted to preserve the cultural heritage of the 42 year old site on 29 April,
2003.

LMRE’s goal is to re-instate motor racing at Lakeside International Raceway as soon as possible and assist whichever body will best achieve that outcome.
