Topic: Lakeside International Raceway
Brisbane, Queensland - At a Lakeside Motor Racing Enthusiasts, Inc. meeting this week, Citizens Against Road Slaughter threw their support behind LMRE's efforts to tackle the hooning problem in Queensland.
C.A.R.S. is an accident victims' support group started in 1984 by Phyl den Roden after her mother was killed by a drunk driver. LMRE members unanimously voted to join C.A.R.S. and agreed to work together in the future. LMRE has been labouring for over 3 years to convince the Pine River Shire Council to re-open Lakeside International Raceway so that young drivers can have a safe alternative to racing on public streets.
