Saksewski Supports Enthusiasts

EVENT:                      Friends of Lakeside Meeting

LOCATION:               Port Royal Mill Hotel, Kallangur

ISSUE DATE:             Tuesday, 12 March, 2003

Former Managing Director of the Lakeside Motorsport Complex, Mr. Geoff Sakzewski, added his support to the new Lakeside Motor Racing Enthusiasts group at their third meeting on Monday night.

Sakzewski was voted on to the committee, as a historical advisor, by representatives from various auto racing and motorcycle clubs, administrative groups and fans.

When asked why he decided to become involved, Sakzewski said, "The Pine Rivers Shire Council appears to have done nothing with Lakeside since they bought it and seem to be somewhat confused as to what to do with it after spending in excess of $600,000 of rate payer funds to enter the business of motorsport."

The LMRE will concentrate on working with the PRSC, the new owners of Lakeside International Raceway, to achieve their goal of re-instating motor racing at the legendary circuit.

Anyone interested in finding out more information is welcome to attend the next meeting of the Lakeside Motor Racing Enthusiasts is at 7:30PM on 24 March at the Port Royal Mill Hotel, 1517 Anzac Ave, Kallangur.
